Dasha Bazanova at SPRING/BREAK Art Show NYC 2025 : Anomaly Farm (Booth D3)

Dasha Bazanova’s installation, Anomaly Farm, will be featured at Booth D3 during the 2025 SPRING/BREAK Art Show in New York City. The fair runs from May 6 to May 12 at 75 Varick Street in Hudson Square. This year’s theme, Paradise Lost + Found, invites artists and curators to explore narratives of utopia, displacement, and the reclamation of idealized spaces.

Anomaly Farm presents a collection of ceramic sculptures depicting farm animals with subtly human-like eyes. This anthropomorphic detail introduces a layer of complexity, prompting reflections on identity, domestication, and the boundaries between species. Bazanova’s work often incorporates elements of folk art and satire, creating pieces that are both whimsical and thought-provoking.

Within the context of Paradise Lost + FoundAnomaly Farm can be seen as a commentary on the constructed nature of idyllic environments and the underlying tensions that exist within them. The human-like features of the animals may suggest a loss of innocence or a critique of idealized pastoral life, aligning with the exhibition’s exploration of utopian and dystopian themes.

The SPRING/BREAK Art Show is known for its curator-driven approach, transforming unconventional spaces into immersive art experiences. This year’s edition features over 100 curatorial exhibitions, special projects, and an artist spotlight section.
