Dasha Bazanova Exhibits Mr. Frog in 2025 Tokyo-New York Friendship Ceramic Competition at Nippon Gallery

20th Tokyo-New York Friendship Ceramic Competition, organized by the Ceramic Artist Friendship Association, Inc. (CaFa). The exhibition will be held at The Nippon Gallery in The Nippon Club, 145 West 57th Street, New York, NY, from May 15 to May 21, 2025, with an opening reception on Friday, May 16 from 5:30 PM to 7:30 PM.

Juried by leading figures in the field—Toshio OHI Chozaemon XI (Japan Art Academy), Shinichi Doi (former conservator, The Met), Cora Rosevear (former Associate Curator, MoMA), and Dr. Michele Bambling (Japan Society Gallery)—the competition features 100 works by artists from Tokyo and New York. Sponsored by the Tokyo Metropolitan Government, All Nippon Airways, and others, the show emphasizes artistic exchange and excellence in ceramic practice.

Bazanova’s Mr. Frog continues her sharp and surreal inquiry into human nature—this time through a creature that stares back.
