THE BODY POLITIC: LONG ISLAND BIENNIAL 2024

Dasha Bazanova’s “Warhol Laptop” Featured in The Body Politic: Long Island Biennial 2024

We are excited to announce that Dasha Bazanova’s ceramic piece, Warhol Laptop, will be featured in the 2024 Long Island Biennial at the Heckscher Museum of Art. The exhibition, titled The Body Politic: Long Island Biennial 2024, will run from September 14, 2024, to January 19, 2025.

This year’s Biennial, the 8th edition of the juried show, highlights artists from Nassau and Suffolk Counties, fostering deeper connections between these artists and the communities they represent. Inspired by the socially charged work of George Grosz, the exhibition encourages artists to engage with contemporary social, cultural, or political issues. Bazanova’s Warhol Laptop captures these themes beautifully, combining elements of pop culture with reflections on the digital age in a striking ceramic form.

Selected from 762 entries submitted by 313 artists, Bazanova’s work joins 77 other pieces chosen by a distinguished panel of jurors, including Ian Alteveer, Patricia Cronin, and Grace Hong. The exhibition, curated by Dr. Meredith A. Brown, explores how artists challenge and shape our world through diverse perspectives and styles.

We invite you to visit the Heckscher Museum and experience Bazanova’s Warhol Laptop alongside an inspiring collection of contemporary works that reflect the ever-evolving relationship between art and society.
