Volta NYC 2024
Dasha Bazanova at VOLTA NYC 2024 September 4 – 8, 2024, 535-551 W. 28th St. New York, NY 10001
Dasha Bazanova will be showcasing her latest work at VOLTA NYC 2024, from September 4 to September 8, in Space 776’s Booth 5. This renowned art fair, held at 535-551 W. 28th St. in New York City, focuses on presenting contemporary solo and dual artist exhibitions, making it a key event for collectors, curators, and art enthusiasts.
Bazanova’s new works build on her signature approach of using satire and irony to critique societal excess and its broader consequences. Her Social Club Tub sculptures, crafted from ceramics with recycled melted glass and gold luster, depict characters in exaggerated states of consumption and disillusionment. Each piece humorously highlights the absurdity of overindulgence while also delivering a deeper commentary on the environmental and societal impacts of excess. These static sculptures come to life through accompanying animations, further immersing viewers in the narrative and engaging them in a reflection on contemporary issues.
Bazanova’s focus on recycled materials speaks to the urgency of sustainability in today’s world, especially in the context of global conflicts that heighten environmental degradation. By using satire to address these pressing concerns, her work provokes thought on how individual and collective actions contribute to societal and environmental collapse.
Alongside Bazanova, Frank Olt and Katherine Jackson will also be exhibiting in Space 776’s Booth 5. Olt’s abstract ceramic works explore themes of conflict and nature, while Jackson’s glass sculptures transform violent imagery into poetic reflections on the intersection of war and environmental change.
Don’t miss the opportunity to view Dasha Bazanova’s compelling new work at VOLTA NYC 2024, where she will be featured with Olt and Jackson in Space 776’s Booth 5.
